Creating a safe, welcoming, and caring environment is important to us. We want everyone who walks through our doors, especially children, youth, families, and vulnerable individuals, to feel supported, respected, and protected.

Our church is committed to clear safety practices, thoughtful supervision, and responsible leadership. We work to create spaces where people can worship, learn, serve, and connect with confidence.

Our Commitment to Safety

We take safety seriously in every part of church life. This includes:

  • providing supervised and age-appropriate spaces for children and youth

  • screening volunteers who serve with children or vulnerable people

  • maintaining kid-friendly environments and clear expectations for care

  • using practical procedures for drop-off, pick-up, and supervision

  • working to ensure our programs are welcoming, respectful, and well supported

Interested in Volunteering?

Serving is a meaningful way to support the life of the church and care for others. If you would like to volunteer or learn more about our safety practices, please connect with the church office. We would be happy to answer your questions and help you find the right fit.

Policies and Procedures
We have policies and procedures in place to help guide how we care for people in our programs and ministries. These include practices related to:

Volunteer Screening

Anyone serving with children, youth, or vulnerable individuals completes a screening process before beginning in their role. This may include references, a police check with vulnerable sector screening, and volunteer training.

Supervision and Classroom Safety

Children’s spaces are supervised by trusted leaders and volunteers. We aim to provide appropriate ratios, safe environments, and clear expectations for those serving in each ministry area.

Drop-Off and Pick-Up

For our children’s programs, we use simple and clear drop-off and pick-up procedures so parents and caregivers know where to go and who is responsible for their child.

Health, Allergy, and Care Information

We encourage parents and caregivers to share important information about allergies, medical needs, comfort routines, or other supports that help us care well for their child.

Safe and Respectful Conduct

We want our church to be a place of kindness, respect, and care. Leaders, volunteers, and participants are expected to contribute to an environment that is safe, welcoming, and appropriate for all.

Responding to Concerns

If a concern arises, we want people to know they can speak with us. We take concerns seriously and aim to respond with care, clarity, and responsibility.

Children and Youth Safety

The safety of children and youth is especially important to us. We want parents and caregivers to feel confident in the care their children receive while participating in church life.

Our leaders and volunteers are committed to:
 • creating welcoming and age-appropriate spaces
 • following clear safety practices
 • caring for children with patience, kindness, and respect
 • supporting positive relationships and healthy boundaries
 • helping children and youth learn and grow in a safe environment

A Shared Responsibility
Safety is not only about policies. It is also about the culture we create together. As a church family, we all play a part in building a community where people are treated with dignity, care, and respect.

Serving in a Safe and Supportive Way
If you are interested in volunteering, we would love to help you find a place to serve. We have a variety of roles within the life of the church, including children’s ministry, youth ministry, hospitality, events, music, community outreach, and more.

Before serving in certain roles, especially those involving children, youth, or vulnerable people, volunteers may be asked to complete:
 • an application or conversation process
 • reference checks
 • a police check with vulnerable sector screening
 • orientation or volunteer training

These steps help us support our volunteers well while also protecting those in our care.
